Lip filler treatments from Liverpool's most experienced medical injectors.
Book Online Request a CallbackLip filler isn't just about making your lips bigger. It can be used to improve defintion, add volume, balance asymmetry, or restore fullness that's been lost over time.
Some patients come to us knowing exactly what they want. Others just know they'd like to do something about their lips but aren't quite sure where to start. Either way, we'll take the time to look at your natural lip shape, your facial proportions, and what you're hoping to achieve before we bring a needle to your lips.
Whether you're after a little more definition, fuller lips, or a more balanced shape, we'll help you work out what actually suits your face. At Dr MJ Clinic, lip filler treatments are carried out by our experienced aesthetic clinicians, Dr MJ and Dr Charlotte, with every treatment tailored to you.

Lip flips are a type of dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in your body that helps retain moisture. When carefully injected into the lips, they can be used to add volume, improve definition, and make subtle changed to the shape and proportions.
And despite what you might see all over social media, lip filler doesn't have to mean dramatically bigger lips!
Some patients want a barely noticeable change, while others perfer something a little more obvious. Neither is right or wrong.
What matters most is understanding what's realistically achieveable with your natural lip anatomy. More filler doesn't always mean a better result, and we'll always be upfront about what we think will work best for you.

After you have treatment, don't panic if your lips look a little fuller than you expected. Swelling, tenderness, and some bruising are completely normal, particularly in the first few days. Most swelling settles fairly quickly, although it can take a couple weeks or longer for your lips to fuller settle.
We'd recommend allowing at least two weeks before any big events, just to be on the safe side.
We'll give you clear aftercare instructions before you leave, but generally, you'll want to avoid strenuous excercise, excessive heat, and putting unnecessary pressure on your lips while the initial swelling settles.
Most people can get back to their usual daily activities straight away, but we'd probably give the gym a miss for a day or two after treatment.
Like any injectable treatment, lip filler isn't completely risk-free. Alongside temporary swelling and bruising, possible complications include infection, lumps, asymmetry, and, very rarely, a blocked blood vessel that can cause tissue damage or affect vision.
We'll explain the risks properly before your treatment and make sure you know what to look out for afterwards. But know that these complications are very rare, especially in the experienced hands of Dr MJ and Dr Charlotte.
Lip fillers typically last around 9-12 months, although this varies from person to person. How quickly your body breaks down filler depends on several factors, and some people find their results last longer than others. Dr MJ or Dr Charlotte will talk you through what you can realistically expect.
Your lips are quite sensitive, so it's completely normal to feel a little nervous about injections! But we do everything we can to keep you comfortable, and that includes using local anaesthetic to numb the area before treatment. You may still experience some discomfort, but it's very managable. We'll talk you through everything beforehand.
That depends entirely on your natural lip shape and the result you're hoping to achieve. Some patients need very little to get the result they want, while others may benefit from building volume gradually. We don't charge per ml, so your injector can focus on recommending the right amount for your lips.
Absolutely! But know that this depends on if your existing filler has settled well and whether further treatment is appropriate. We'll assess your lips first at your consultation, as adding more filler isn't always the best option. If there's existing filler that's migrated or is causing problems, we may recommend having it dissolved before adding anything new.
Yes! Hyaluronic acid lip filler can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This can be useful if you're unhappy with old filler or experiencing an aesthetic complication. Dissolving is a medical procedure with its own risks, so we'll assess your lips and discuss the options before recommending treatment.
Having a history of cold sores doesn't automatically mean you can't have lip filler, but injections can sometimes trigger an outbreak. Make sure you tell us beforehand so we can discuss any precautions you might need. If you have an active cold sore, your appointment will usually need to be postponed.
Lip filler is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough research to establish its safety. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, please let us know before booking so we can advise you appropriately.
